Here, you can read the answers to some of the questions that might pop up as you plan your visit to the Nordsøen Oceanarium.

Parking

We have lots of free parking spaces right next to the main entrance.

Buses are welcome to park in front of the main entrance to drop off passengers and then proceed to park at a nearby parking lot. When a group is ready to go home, buses are encouraged to come up to the main entrance again for the passengers to embark on the bus.

Smoking

The Nordsøen Oceanarium is a non-smoking attraction - indoors and outdoors alike. If you need to smoke prior to or during your stay, you are required to do so in the designated areas by the parking lot. It goes without saying that you are welcome to pop out for a smoke during your stay but remember to bring your entrance ticket to get back in.

Dogs

Dogs are not allowed inside the Nordsøen Oceanarium. They are welcome, however, at our dog-friendly parking spaces by the end of the large parking lot to the left of the entrance. We strongly ADVISE AGAINST leaving you dog in your car on very warm days.

The dog-friendly parking spaces are equipped with the following:

shade for your dog
a tap with fresh water for your dog

At all times, you are welcome to exit the building to take your dog for a walk during your visit at the Nordsøen Oceanarium.

Wheelchairs and Strollers

Borrow a wheelchair free of charge. Note, however, that we only have a limited number of wheelchairs available.

Your Own Food and Beverages

Our outdoor area is an ideal spot for you to enjoy your packed lunches. You will also find a roofed and sheltered area should the Danish weather not behave! Indoors, you are welcome to enjoy your packed lunches in the Sea Bed Room.

Wardrobe and Luggage Storage

Defibrillators

At the Nordsøen Oceanarium, we have two defibrillators - one inside and one outside.

The indoor defibrillator is located to the right of the Oceanarium tank windowpane at the foot of the stairs.

The outdoor defibrillator is located on the outer wall to the right of the entrance to the Nordsøen Oceanarium.

Our staff will be happy to assist you in any emergency, just tell them if you need help.

Accessibility

100% of our facility is disability-accessible - indoors as well as outdoors. Accessible restrooms and lifts are available in the attraction. The lifts are located by the Doggerbanke and next to the 'touch basins'. Handicap parking is available by the main entrance.

Disabled persons pay standard entrance fees but carers will not be charged if they are necessary assistance to a disabled person.

We are also a member of the "God Adgang" (Good Access) labeling scheme under the Disabled People's Organisations Denmark (DPOD) where you provide information about the physical means of access to buildings and outdoor facilities.
